Bobby White (USA)

Bobby is known worldwide for his individual dance style, expressive teaching methods, and floppy hair. He is a passionate dancer of Balboa, Lindy Hop, and Solo Jazz and has won many national and international championship placements in those dances, which he teaches all over the world. His welcoming nature and humorous personality are complemented by his passion for the dance and in-depth instruction. He is dedicated to exploring the art form and history of swing dance, as shown through his well-read blog, Swingover, and the story-telling talks that he delivers at events. He is the emcee of Lindy Focus and other events.

Susana Bernal (FR)

Since her birth, Susana was cradled by the music of all kinds and developed a varied musical taste and a growing openness for style and expression. found her passion and started to dance Balboa in 2006. She loves encouraging people to have an open mind about the choice of techniques and Susana journeys all over the world to continue to grow and develop as a dancer, and follow the evolution of the universe of swing. She has been noticed on the dance floors by being placed high in many well-known competitions. Her style, influenced by Argentine tango, will provide you with unique footwork. Naturally she started to teach these dances that speak both to her body as her heart!

Mel and Jo are dance enthusiasts who have been dedicating their time and efforts to encouraging Balboa in the United Kingdom. Being familiar with Lindy hop and blues, their current love is in mastering Balboa and Bal-swing, a journey in continuous learning. Currently, you can find them social dancing and competing at various events across Europe and the United States. They are also teaching and facilitate pilot sessions in the United Kingdom and Europe. Their “down-to-earth” and positive attitude helps to make the classes they teach not only informative but also enjoyable. Their aspirations to be ambassadors of balboa stems from a continuous learning and sharing of their passion and knowledge of the dance to enthusiasts alike.

 Gio Olla (SE)

Gio started dancing at the age of 10 and he never stopped. He travelled from the very beginning for Boogie Woogie competitions, later on he discovered Balboa which is now his great passion. He is currently based in Stockholm where he teaches regular classes and is part of the team organizing Sweden Balboa Weekend. Gio enjoys experimenting with new moves and stretching the borders of the dance, many people remember him for his following skills. Gio still likes to compete, he won the first place title at All Balboa Weekend Amateur Strictly and Jack’n’Jill, Balboa on the Promenade Strictly and Jack’n’Jill and Snowball. His goal is to let the students develop their own style and character in the dance.

Cris Kay (UK)

Since they started dancing together in 2007, Jon and Cris have travelled the world taking classes and teaching Balboa, Blues and Lindy Hop. While in Spain they have helped to form Swing&Co. in Zaragoza, Cris’ home town and create an ever growing Swing dance scene where they are the ambassadors of Balboa. They are easily approachable both in class and on the social dance floor and they love to experiment with new teaching and dancing techniques and methodologies. As dancers they mix a cocktail of musicality, elegance and fun with a pinch of craziness. They have won several Balboa competitions in Europe and placed in the Great Lakes Balboa Escape Festival 2017 in Chicago and ABW 2019 in Cleveland.

Gloria Garcia (SP)

Successfully trying to grow a Balboa scene in Barcelona area since 2005, Gloria has been dancing Balboa since 1998. Having developed her own training technique, she has been teaching internationally since 2010. Coming from various dancing backgrounds like afro-latin, traditional Spanish dances and solo jazz, she has won balboa International titles like Euro Bal Cup 2011, BOTP Classic Open 2013 and ABW PA 2014. Member and leader of White Chocolates solo jazz troupe, she has also been teaching locally Balboa and solo jazz since 2004. She is also a Dance Movement Therapist and uses various movement analysis techniques in her Balboa teaching methology.
